Shipping heat-sensitive products
Overview
Unless recommended by the supplier, heat-sensitive products aren’t shipped with a cold pack as they’re manufactured to withstand time in transit.
For select products that do ship with a cold pack, please note that the pack is expected to stay cold only for the first day in transit, depending on the temperature it’s exposed to. Even after melting, the pack usually remains cooler than outside conditions, helping to keep your probiotic product cooler.
We recommend placing your order early in the week (Monday/Tuesday) to avoid your order being in transit over the weekend when couriers may not make deliveries in your area.
Packing your heat-sensitive order
Our warehouse carefully follows packing rules for all products according to our supplement quality control standards. This may include shipping a product in an insulated bag or separating it from other items in the package to keep it near any cold packs added to your shipment.
Storing heat-sensitive products at home
While the packaging for shipping is important for your heat-sensitive item, long-term storage is by far the most significant factor.
The following are general guidelines that we suggest you follow:
- Follow the storage instructions on the bottle – not all heat-sensitive products need refrigeration.
- Moisture leads to mold – leave cotton balls or silicon packets inside the bottle.
- Close the lids on all containers tightly.
- Avoid storage in the bathroom or near the stove in the kitchen.
